Model Jerry Hall will make her debut on Celebrity Traitors tonight, where she may need to deceive her co-stars. The 70-year-old is no stranger to awkward social situations, having been in several high-profile relationships, including with Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger and businessman Rupert Murdoch.
Sir Mick Jagger: A 23-Year Relationship
Jerry and Sir Mick first met in 1976 at a dinner party. At the time, she was engaged to Roxy Music singer Bryan Ferry, and Sir Mick was married to Bianca Jagger. A year later, the couple began an affair, and Jerry left Bryan. In 1990, they had a traditional Hindu wedding in Bali, but it was not legally binding.
Their relationship faced infidelity allegations in 1992. In 1999, it ended when it emerged that Mick was expecting a child with Luciana Gimenez Morad. Jerry filed for divorce, and British courts voided the 1990 marriage due to lack of legal registration.
Speaking to The Guardian in 2010, Jerry said: "Getting a divorce is always horrible, because you feel you've failed. Everyone hates to give up on a marriage. You think your family's broken up. But we managed to keep the family quite strong and to still be friendly. Divorce is not the end of the world. It's worse to stay in an unhealthy marriage. That's a worse example for the children."
Rupert Murdoch: An Email Divorce
In 2015, Jerry started dating Rupert after his sister and niece introduced them. They went public in October 2015 and got engaged in January 2016. Rupert announced the news in The Times newspaper, which he owns. He proposed with a 19-carat marquise diamond ring.
They married at Spencer House in 2016, with Rupert saying he felt like "the luckiest and happiest man in the world." In December 2021, they bought a $200 million cattle ranch in Montana. In June 2022, Rupert emailed Jerry to say the marriage was over, and she should contact him only through his lawyers.
Jerry filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce was finalised weeks later, with representatives saying they "remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future." Jerry reportedly received tens of millions and an £11 million Oxfordshire mansion in the settlement.
