ITV star warns Meghan Markle after Royal Family trip

Big Brother star Emily Hewertson has warned Meghan Markle to step back and allow Prince Harry to extend an olive branch to his family, following the Duchess's recent UK trip with their children.

Warning After UK Trip

The Duchess of Sussex sparked an uproar last month when she shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from her family trip to the UK after keeping herself and their two children hidden from the British media. The former Suits star took to Instagram to give her millions of followers insight into their week-long stay, during which they visited Princess Diana's grave at her childhood home.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the National Reality TV Awards, Hewertson reflected on the impact of the trip.

Hopes for Reconciliation

She said: "I think the trip went better than expected. I would love to see Prince Harry and Prince William get back together to reignite their relationship. I think they're really lovely, and the British public fell in love with them for a reason and supported them after their mother died."

"But sometimes, when a woman comes in the way, it completely ruins them. So really, I'd like to see Prince Harry do a few trips back to the UK alone. I think that would really reignite their relationship."

The 26-year-old also criticised Meghan's approach to privacy, saying: "I think it's really interesting because one of Meghan's biggest criticisms was the fact that she didn't really want to be in the public eye, but she's very happy to share with her millions of followers online, and very happy to be in documentaries, and very happy to be an influencer."

Call for Second Chance

Hewertson added that the Duchess may be able to repair her reputation in the UK if she allows her husband to reconnect with his family on a solo trip. She explained: "I'm all for second chances, but I think she needs to take a bit of a step back and reevaluate and realise that the British Royal Family is very important to us here in the UK and understand what it means to be a part of this community."

"I'm all for giving her a second chance, but I think she needs to give Prince Harry some alone time with his family and then maybe try and understand things a bit more."

Signs of Independence

The warning comes after Meghan issued a pointed reminder to everyone - including Prince Harry - that she remains very much her own woman. The Duchess made a solo appearance at a screening of Cookie Queens, the Girl Scouts documentary she executive-produced, and was spotted without her engagement ring.

Royal insiders claim the omission was deliberate, with one telling Closer magazine she is "too media savvy to accidentally step out without her ring". The source added it was "almost like she's reminding everyone, including Harry, that she's still the independent, self-assured, driven woman he fell in love with".
