An insider has told PEOPLE that spending quality time with their children is 'really important' to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple recently enjoyed a European holiday in Portugal and the UK, where they focused on family togetherness.
Insider on Family Priorities
'That kind of normal family time is really important to Harry and Meghan,' the insider said. 'They love Portugal because Archie and Lilibet can simply be kids. It’s always very low-key with beach days, playing and spending time together as a family.'
Portugal Holiday and UK Visit
Harry travelled to Britain first, with Meghan and their children—seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet—joining him days later. The family is believed to have a holiday home in Portugal, not far from Princess Eugenie and her family.
Meghan's Instagram Post
After returning to the US, Meghan shared a carousel of pictures from the family's 'summer holiday' on Instagram. The images included scenes of the family on the beach, strolling through colourful markets, and what appeared to be a visit to Princess Diana's grave at Althorp House in the UK. The couple's children were featured in the photos.
King Charles Meets Grandchildren
Sources have suggested that Harry hopes to spend more time in the UK so that his children can visit their paternal grandfather. King Charles was able to spend time with Archie and Lilibet during their recent visit—the first time he had seen them in person since 2022.
