Prince Harry is set to return to the UK next month with his family, including wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit, scheduled for July 2026, will see the Duke of Sussex host a one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham. However, the event is set to clash with Prince William's annual Royal Charity Polo Cup, held at Guards Polo Club in Windsor on July 10.
First Joint UK Visit Since 2022
This will mark the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a joint visit to Britain since September 2022. Seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet are reportedly joining their parents for their first UK visit since attending the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee four years ago. Unlike her older brother, Lilibet was not born in the UK and had not visited the country or met her late great-grandmother prior to summer 2022.
During the 2022 visit, Meghan and Harry reportedly requested a photograph of Archie and Lilibet with Queen Elizabeth II, but the request was denied. Details of that meeting were later featured in Harry's 2023 memoir, Spare.
Clash of Royal Events
Harry's Invictus Games countdown event is expected to be held in Birmingham, the host city for the 2027 Games, while William's polo event takes place in Windsor. The Royal Charity Polo Cup, now in its 15th year, has raised significant funds for charity. In 2024, the event raised more than £13 million, and the 2025 edition raised over £14 million, with proceeds distributed across multiple charities.
According to a palace source, the family-of-four has been offered the chance to stay at a royal residence during their visit, which is thought to last up to two weeks.
