Prince Harry is reportedly hoping for an invitation from King Charles to spend time at Sandringham this summer, a move that could facilitate a family reunion and address security concerns that have kept the Duke of Sussex from bringing his wife Meghan and their two children to the UK.
According to insiders, an invitation from the King would automatically entitle Harry and his family to security provisions, resolving a key obstacle. A friend of Prince Harry told The Sunday Times: 'If he was invited by the King, he would get a package of security that automatically kicks in. He’d like an invite to Sandringham.'
The friend added that Harry's attendance would depend on who else was present, but said: 'If the King was to say, “Come up and spend some time with the family”, he’d love that.'
The development follows a reported peace talk between Harry and his father earlier this year, described as 'an important first step towards rebuilding their relationship.' Another source told the publication last year that Harry 'has not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK' and wants his children to know their extended family.
Prince Harry has previously spoken of his desire for reconciliation, telling the BBC in 2024: 'I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious.'
