Prince Harry and Prince William reportedly have no contact, and the rift between the brothers is also affecting other members of their family. The Sussexes have not met with the Wales family since returning to the UK, where Harry is now living in the Cotswolds with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
No reunion since return
Before their move, the Sussexes visited the UK in July, during which they met King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. That private meeting was the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in four years, since 2022.
The Royal Observer reports: “Despite being first cousins, Archie and Lilibet have likely never met George, Charlotte, and Louis.” The publication added: “The heartbreaking fact really does put into perspective just how much the Sussexes and the Waleses have lost due to the rift.”
Uncertain future for cousins
While Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are likely to see more of their grandfather, the King, the future of their relationship with their cousins and their aunt and uncle looks more uncertain.
Speaking about the July visit to Page Six, royal expert Amanda Matta said: “Even if relations are gradually improving, the Wales household likely has a full schedule already in place for the summer, and any reunion involving the cousins would require tons of planning and goodwill from all parties involved.”
Extended stay in the UK
The Sussexes' trip in July lasted only five days, which may have been one factor in why the families did not reunite. Now that the Sussexes are back in the UK for an extended period, it is not yet known if a reunion will take place.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met in 2016 and married in 2018. By 2020, they quit their roles as working royals and moved to the USA, where they lived in California for six years.
