Harry and Meghan's low-key UK comeback plan revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning a series of "low-key" public appearances to regain the support of the UK public, according to a friend of the couple. The strategy follows their first major joint public appearance since returning to Britain in August, a visit to Nottingham that drew fewer than 200 people.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted with cheers, embraces, handshakes and gifts from the moment their car arrived. The warm reception is thought to have delighted the couple, who are keen to win over the UK through understated engagements.

Strategy to win support

A friend of Harry and Meghan told the Daily Mail's Editor at Large Alison Boshoff: "They are making efforts to re-enter slowly with humility and hope to win support that way." The friend added: "There is no intention to thumb a nose at the King or cause irritation. This sort of work is what makes Harry happy, it is in his DNA. It is nothing to do with relations with the Royal Family."

The friend continued: "They can achieve great support for charities and intend to do so. There will be more days like [Thursday] going forward," and expressed that "people want the old Harry".

Property search and future plans

Harry and Meghan are reportedly looking to buy a property in the UK, a shift from renting, suggesting a long-term relocation. Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are currently enrolled in UK schools. A friend revealed that Meghan will step up her property search "soon", adding: "I know that they have an agent looking at what is available for them in terms of houses and he is sending everything which might suit to their team to look at virtually. I think it's about to go up a notch."

The timing and nature of the couple's next joint public engagement in the UK remain unknown, but they are understood to be fully committed to continuing their charitable work while in Britain. Meghan is also reportedly focusing on her As Ever brand, which recently launched a holiday collection, with speculation that select items may soon be sold in the UK.
