Prince Harry and Meghan Markle risk putting themselves on a "collision course" with Buckingham Palace because they "won't walk away" from quasi-royal duties, reports suggest. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Britain with their children in late August, and have so far not commented publicly on their reasons for moving back from the US after six years.
Public spat over status
Their first few weeks back on UK soil have not been smooth sailing, including a public spat with the Palace over their status, with the couple taking issue over the King's labelling of them as "private citizens" rather than "public figures".
A source told Woman and Home: "It is their belief that they have a great deal to offer charities and good causes that could benefit from their support. If the King thought that issuing that letter would simply make them fade away, he will be deeply disappointed."
Commitment to charities
They added that there is "no way" Harry will "step back or walk away" from the Invictus Games initiative or his work with the WellChild charity. "It is no exaggeration that this is likely to put them on a collision course with the Palace," they said.
