Harry and Meghan 'will exploit' school security scare, claims author

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will use a security scare at their children's school to make their case for taxpayer-funded security in the UK, a royal author has claimed.

Ingrid Seward suggested Harry's security would have been positioned outside the school due to the Duke's paranoia around his and his family's safety. She suggested Harry always has security guards around him to deter unwanted attention.

Incident 'passed to authorities'

Harry and Meghan, who returned to live in the UK in August, are waiting to hear whether they will be given taxpayer-funded security. In a discussion about privacy and security, Ms Seward told The Sun's Royal Exclusive: "I do feel certain that they [the Sussexes] probably will use this to try and benefit themselves in some kind of way."

Show host Matt Wilkinson said what happened has already been passed to the authorities, deciding whether the Duke and Duchess will be granted taxpayer-funded armed security in the UK.

Paparazzi spotted at school

GB News's royal correspondent, Cameron Walker, suggested that while British media would not publish unauthorised photos of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, publications in Europe might, creating demand for snaps of the younger Sussexes. He suggested that Harry and Meghan would point out that while the two international paparazzi only had cameras with them, what might happen if they had something "far more dangerous".

In September, two men with backpacks and using a white van are understood to have been spotted by private security and school staff walking the perimeter of the school and monitoring children. A Team Sussex spokesman branded them "extraordinarily reckless" and spoke of an "unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children".
