Two fire engines were seen entering the Sandringham estate on Monday, near the residence where Prince Andrew is believed to be staying following his recent arrest. The vehicles arrived at Wood Farm, the Duke of York's current home, around lunchtime.
Witnesses reported one truck driving up the lane past Wolferton Church with its siren briefly activated, followed by a second fire engine. Both units departed after approximately ten minutes.
A witness told the Mirror: "There were no police or security around. The fire engine just suddenly arrives. They all went in and came out perhaps five or six minutes later. No-one had idea of what was going on."
Norfolk Fire Brigade later confirmed the callout was a false alarm, stating: "We were called to an address in Wolferton, which was to an automatic fire alarm activation, so this was a false alarm."
The incident comes days after Prince Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was released under investigation following 11 hours of questioning, with searches of his former Royal Lodge home continuing.
