The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has sparked fresh speculation about her relationship with ex-husband Prince Andrew after describing him as 'family' in a social media post. The 59-year-old shared a photograph on Instagram of the former couple laughing with their daughter Princess Beatrice at Royal Ascot, captioned: 'Great day with my family'.
The post prompted an outpouring of support from royal fans, with many calling for the pair to remarry more than two decades after their divorce. 'Just get remarried already,' one follower commented, while others used the hashtag #royalwedding2019. Sarah and Andrew separated in 1992 after six years of marriage and divorced in 1996, but have remained on friendly terms.
Body language experts noted the couple appeared particularly close at the event. Robin Kermode, a communication coach, described the image as showing 'a couple deeply at ease with each other and in sync', highlighting Fergie's 'intimate' gesture of adjusting Andrew's lapel. Author Judi James added that their body language 'hasn't changed over the course of more than two decades', noting similarities to their engagement interviews.
This is not the first time Fergie has hinted at enduring affection for Andrew. Earlier this year, she posted a birthday tribute calling him 'the best man, father, friend' and 'the best looking'. In a 2016 radio interview, she said: 'We've never really left each other. We're divorced to each other right now.'
