Current and former employees of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spoken out to counter recent negative allegations about working for the couple. In an interview with US Weekly, staff have painted a very different picture from the claims made in a Hollywood Reporter article last week, which alleged that Meghan belittles people and has earned the nickname 'Duchess Difficult'.
Among those speaking out is Josh Kettler, who lasted just three months as Harry's chief of staff before stepping down on the eve of the couple's trip to Colombia. He described his experience positively, saying he was 'warmly welcomed' by both Harry and Meghan and their Archewell team. He added: 'They are dedicated and hardworking. It was impressive to witness.'
The couple's current global press secretary, Ashley Hansen, also praised her bosses, revealing that after she underwent serious surgery, she was inundated with supportive phone calls, care packages and flowers from Meghan. Hansen said: 'When I told them, I was met with the kind of concern and care a parent would express if it were their own child.' She added that Meghan personally reached out to her husband daily to check on them both.
Another former staffer told the magazine that Harry and Meghan are generous with gifts, such as a luxury leash and collar for a newly adopted dog, and 'top-notch secondhand stuff' for staff welcoming new babies. A current employee also claimed they have never heard Meghan yell, saying she 'gives clear direction and is solution-oriented'. This directly contradicts the Hollywood Reporter's claim that she sends 'angry emails at 5am' to employees.
Mandana Dayani, who served as president of Archewell for 18 months, also spoke out, saying she is still lifelong friends with the couple. The testimonies come after years of bullying allegations from other sources, which Meghan has always vehemently denied.
