Emmerdale actress Caroline Harker, who plays villain Dr. Caitlin Todd, has a famous sister that period drama fans will recognize. Susannah Harker, 61, is known for her roles in the BBC's House of Cards and the 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
Caroline Harker's Role in Emmerdale
The 60-year-old soap star has been portraying Dr. Caitlin Todd on the ITV soap. The doctor first appeared in January 2025, when trainee doctor Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) began his shift at Hotten General Hospital. Jacob breached patient confidentiality after mistakenly believing a stabbing victim was April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), who had gone missing.
Dr. Todd continued to bully Jacob, then arrived in the village and started a relationship with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) while blackmailing Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) over baby Leyla's parentage. In a harrowing scene, Dr. Todd sexually assaulted Charity, but the police took no further action, and she moved to Sheffield. However, Dr. Todd returned to the Dales on Thursday (July 6).
A flashforward revealed Dr. Todd lying unconscious with blood around her head, implying she has been killed, but the culprit remains a mystery.
Who is Caroline Harker's Famous Sister?
Caroline was born in 1966 in London to actress Polly Adams and actor Richard Owens. She attended the Central School of Speech and Drama and made early TV appearances in Growing Rich, Middlemarch, and The Madness of King George. She has appeared in Harry Enfield and Chums, Holding On, A Touch of Frost, and Coronation Street. Recently, she appeared in Slow Horses and Toast of Tinseltown.
Her sister Susannah Harker is also an English actress and director. Her biggest role was Mattie Storin in House of Cards, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA.
