Emmerdale confirmed two emotional departures on Wednesday, leaving fans in tears. Monty the Dingle dog was put to sleep following a cancer diagnosis, and Noah Dingle left the village for a new life abroad after more than 20 years.
Monty's heartbreaking goodbye
Monty's health had declined rapidly, and the Dingles agreed it was time to say goodbye. Cain Dingle accompanied Monty to the vets and was with him when he died. The scene was too much for some viewers, with one fan writing: "Poor Monty. I could barely watch," and another saying: "When Monty gave Cain his paw I was BROKEN. Sobbed like a baby. Dogs really are the most precious souls."
Noah Dingle's exit
The episode ended with Noah's departure, as he left for a new life abroad. Actor Jack Downham, who played Noah for 17 years since 2009, filmed his final scenes. Reports had suggested Jack was written out, but nothing was confirmed at the time. Now his exit storyline has aired, and Noah has left the show for good.
One fan commented: "Noah telling Cain he’s the closest thing he’s ever had to a dad and to look after Charity." Another added: "Losing Noah is a huge loss for #emmerdale - Jack is a great young actor."
More exits rumored
With Noah and Monty gone, reports also suggest Jimmy King, Dawn Taylor, and Vinny Dingle will leave this year, and Dr Todd is expected to go soon. Nothing is confirmed by cast or show, but storylines seem to be heading that way.
Some fans had speculated Noah might be involved in the upcoming murder twist involving Dr Todd, who is set to be killed off as teased in a flashforward. But with Noah now gone, that theory seems unlikely.
