Emily Atack has married scientist Dr Alistair Garner in an intimate church ceremony on 22 August, describing the day as “absolutely perfect”. The Rivals actress, 36, and her partner, 40, celebrated their nuptials with close family and friends at her Bedfordshire home with a garden party.
A Perfect Day
Sharing pictures with her Instagram followers, Emily said: “Yesterday we officially got married among close family and friends. It was absolutely perfect.” The bride wore an ivory plunge dress from Evelie, complete with long sleeves, an elegant veil and lace shoes by Charlotte Mills.
Discussing her bridal attire, Emily – whose mum is actress Kate Robbins – said: “Since Rivals, in terms of fashion, I tend to go quite big now generally.” The groom wore a classic black two-piece suit with a patterned tie.
Celebrations at Home
The reception featured a buffet of Italian food from her friend Mario Di Giorgi, with dessert from an ice-cream van offering McFlurries, personalised with a “Mr and Mrs Garner” sign. The couple had two wedding cakes – one with figurines of Emily, Alistair and their two-year-old son Barney, and another floral-themed with their initials as a cake-topper.
Cocktails including strawberry daiquiris, palomas, margaritas and lychee martinis were served to guests. Although a small affair, the occasion was star-studded, with Emily’s mum Kate Robbins and auntie Amy Robbins in attendance. Her sister, celebrity agent Martha Atack, served as maid-of-honour.
What’s Next
Emily and Alistair first started dating in 2022, having met in childhood. Alistair’s late dad was married to Emily’s mum’s sister, but she has shut down any suggestion they were related. The pair are now preparing for part two of the wedding celebrations, rumoured to be taking place in Spain.
