Coronation Street's Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) is ready to give a statement to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) after discovering a large amount of cash in her son Carl's (Jonathan Howard) wallet, fearing he robbed the pub and pushed Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) down the stairs.
In this evening's episode, Kit continued his investigation into who put Eva in hospital. Last week, Eva was shoved down the stairs into the cellar by Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), who had snuck into the pub to look for his phone and panicked when Eva found him.
Cash discovery raises suspicions
At Debbie and Ronnie Bailey's (Vinta Morgan) flat, Kit questioned each suspect about their whereabouts on the night Eva fell. When it was Carl's turn, he stated that he helped Eva tidy up the pub and then went home shortly after.
Later, when Debbie was alone, she picked up Carl's jacket and found a large amount of cash in his wallet. She began to fear that her son had attempted to rob the pub and pushed Eva down the stairs during the process. Feeling as though she had no other option, she arrived at Kit's flat and shared her theory.
Debbie's history with Carl
Earlier this year, Carl framed his mum for the Corriedale crash. Debbie eventually worked out that she was innocent, but took the fall for her son and went to prison.
The tables have most certainly turned, with Debbie now in control of her son's future. It seems that Debbie is ready to give her statement to Kit, but will this result in Carl being sentenced himself? Or will Sam confess his secret to prevent an innocent man from going to prison?
