Casualty Star Joins EastEnders as Denise Fox's Half-Brother

Christopher Colquhoun has been cast in EastEnders as Darnell Larson Jr., the half-brother of Denise Fox, who is currently battling an aggressive form of blood cancer. He will appear later this summer alongside his on-screen daughter Grace, played by Krysstina Frempong.

New Family Revelation

The Fox-Truemans are left reeling when Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) discovers that Darnell is Denise's half-brother, a fact she never knew existed. Darnell's arrival introduces a new branch to the family, with Grace already known to viewers from shows like Too Much and Essex Girls.

Actor's Background

Colquhoun, 56, is best known for playing Simon Kaminski in Casualty in the early 2000s, with a stint in spin-off Holby City. He has also appeared in The Bill, Vera, and Coronation Street, where he played Matt Davis, briefly engaged to Sunita Alahan before she reunited with Dev Alahan.

Cast and Crew Reactions

Colquhoun said: "I am thrilled to be finally moving to Walford after all these years, and the welcome I’ve received has been phenomenal. Hearing I’d got the role was an absolute doof doof moment for me… hopefully there’ll be plenty more of those to come!"

Frempong added: "I am extremely excited to be joining EastEnders! I have watched the show for as long as I can remember and have such vivid memories of gathering around the TV with my family, especially at Christmas, to watch all the drama unfolding on the Square, so it feels pretty surreal to now be a part of the action!"

Executive Producer Ben Wadey said: "Kim’s discovery uncovers a new branch of the Fox-Trueman family, and we're excited to introduce viewers to new members of their extended family. It’s been great to delve into this wider family network, and we're delighted to welcome Christopher and Krysstina to the cast as we bring two new faces to Walford."

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
