Lady Colin Campbell, the socialite and author who first revealed Princess Diana's secrets, has arrived in Australia for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and has warned the royal family to be wary. The 66-year-old aristocrat, who wrote the 1992 biography 'Diana in Private: The Princess Nobody Knows', claimed the royal family watches the show.
Lady Campbell, who disclosed Diana's struggle with bulimia and her affair with James Hewitt, said she would tell 'the truth' about them. 'Why should I hold back? If they're worried, what can I say?' she declared. She also made a barbed comment about Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, calling him 'an acquired taste'.
Born with a genital defect and registered as a boy, Lady Campbell was raised as a male until her teens, though she and her family knew she was female. She was injected with male hormones. In 2013, she revealed her father had suggested she commit suicide to avoid embarrassment, saying 'The solution to your problem is rat poison'.
Despite a short-lived marriage to Colin Campbell, she kept his name. Asked what scared her about the jungle, she replied: 'I've had so many human rats in my life I don't think the animals scare me.' She joins footballer Kieron Dyer, actress Jorgie Porter, and others in the ITV show hosted by Ant and Dec.
