A new cartoon by Ben Jennings has taken aim at Prince Andrew, depicting the disgraced royal at his Royal Lodge residence amid fresh revelations from the Epstein files. The artwork comes as the Duke of York faces renewed scrutiny over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Newly released documents include an email from Ghislaine Maxwell to Epstein, dated 2015, which appears to confirm the authenticity of a photograph showing Andrew with Virginia Giuffre. The email, titled 'draft statement', reads: 'In 2001 I was in London when [redacted] met a number of friends of mine including Prince Andrew. A photograph was taken as I imagine she wanted to show it to friends and family.' Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Mirror: 'We know it's genuine now. We always did.'
Additionally, a second accuser has come forward, alleging she was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew in 2010. Lawyers for the victim claim the encounter took place at Royal Lodge, and that she was given a tour of Buckingham Palace the following day. Andrew has consistently denied all allegations.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward has broken the royal family's silence on the scandal. Speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, he said: 'I think it's all really important, always, to remember the victims and who are the victims in all this.' Fitzwilliams described Edward's comments as a way of aligning with King Charles's emphasis on supporting abuse survivors.
The cartoon by Jennings, known for his satirical work, highlights the ongoing turmoil within the royal family as Andrew faces increasing pressure. The prince has reportedly been exiled to Marsh Farm in Norfolk at the behest of King Charles.
