The video, published on December 26, 2025, showcases the bustling activity within the historic Westminster Abbey. It reveals a dedicated crew decorating a grand Christmas tree, a choir rehearsing traditional hymns, and camera operators meticulously planning their shots. The King himself is seen taking his position, with a stylist making last-minute adjustments to his suit before he delivers his address.
This marked the second consecutive year, and the fourth of his reign, that King Charles chose to record his speech away from a royal residence. By selecting Westminster Abbey, the monarch aimed to imbue the message with a stronger sense of community and shared tradition, a practice begun by King George V in 1932.
