Body language expert Judi James described Kate's behaviour as that of a 'protective huntress', suggesting she was acting as a shield for her husband, Prince William, and seeking to ward off unwanted attention. James noted that Kate's 'closed hand and unsmiling expression signal no desire to engage', while her peripheral vision remained fixed on Fergie.
The apparent snub comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding Prince Andrew and Ferguson.
