Gardeners' World star Adam Frost has revealed his two-word nickname for fellow presenter Monty Don. In a recent interview, the gardening expert referred to his colleague as "his lordship" while heaping praise on him.
A decade on Gardeners' World
Adam, 56, has been a regular on the BBC gardening programme since 2016, working alongside main presenter Monty, 71. The pair are often seen gardening together as the team gives viewers practical advice.
In the interview with iNews, Adam opened up about how the show has become a staple for viewers ahead of its 60th anniversary next year. He said: "For so many people, it's a staple part of their week. They get to Friday night, the music comes on, his lordship – as I like to call Monty Don – walks out, dogs in tow, and the whole world feels like a beautiful place to be."

Adam also credited Nick Knowles from DIY SOS for his television career. He said: "If there were a human being that was to blame for me being on the telly, it would have to be Nick Knowles from DIY SOS. He would always say to me: 'You love talking about gardening, why wouldn't you want to talk to two million people?'"
Reflecting on his early days on the show, he added: "I spent the first couple of years at Gardeners' World thinking: 'What the hell am I doing?' Then, slowly you realise that you're just doing something you love, with nice people watching."
Tribute to Geoff Hamilton
Elsewhere, Adam paid tribute to his late mentor and former show host, Geoff Hamilton, on the 30th anniversary of his death. Geoff, who presented the series from 1979 to 1996, died aged 59 in 1996 after a heart attack during a charity cycle ride.
Adam marked the occasion with an emotional segment on Gardeners' World and a video on Instagram. He said: "I find it very hard to believe that we lost Geoff Hamilton 30 years ago. He had such an influence on me as a gardener. I'm 21 years old, and I got a job at Barnsdale Gardens for the great man. If one person set a moral compass as to how I was going to garden for the rest of my life, it has to be Geoff."
He concluded that Geoff had "touched so many lives" and would continue to do so.
