Prince Harry is currently on a week-long visit to the UK, sparking renewed speculation about his relationship with the royal family, particularly his father, King Charles. The 41-year-old Duke of Sussex arrived on Monday, primarily to attend events for the Invictus Games, including the one-year countdown to the 2027 Games in Birmingham on July 10.
Reports indicate that King Charles is eager to build a close bond with his youngest grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now aged seven and five, whom he has not seen since 2022. Archie and Lilibet were originally scheduled to travel with Harry and Meghan Markle, but their trip was canceled after a request for police protection was denied.
Hopeful Conversations Between Charles and Harry
According to the Mirror, there have been recent conversations between the King and Harry. A source described the tone as "hopeful" for a meeting with the Sussexes. Another source revealed the King's determination, stating: "The King would not pass up the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and if there is a way of making it possible," adding the four-word statement: "he will do it."
Harry is reportedly "frantically" trying to secure extra private security so his family can join him in the UK. Earlier, when it was confirmed that the children would accompany Harry, it was reported that Archie and Lilibet were excited about the visit.
Children Unaware of Royal Status
A friend close to Harry and Meghan told HELLO! magazine that Archie and Lilibet "don't really have any concept about who they [the Royal Family] are." The friend added that Harry and Meghan "are very good at keeping them away from it all so they live as normal little kids."
