The hat, which left viewers astonished, includes a recreation of a Wimbledon grass court, a net, tennis rackets, and tennis balls. To complete the ensemble, the woman attached a doll to represent a tennis player, with a racket fixed to the doll's hand. The official Wimbledon TikTok account posted a clip of the spectator, captioning it: "When at Wimbledon!"
Social media users quickly dubbed the woman an "icon" and praised her creativity. One commenter wrote: "I love a whimsical girlie." Another said: "She's so real." A third simply added: "Iconic." In a separate incident, a different Wimbledon attendee expressed disappointment after trying the tournament's famous strawberries and cream for the first time. Lawrence Newport shared a photo on X showing a cardboard box containing only a sparse coating of cream and what appeared to be seven strawberries haphazardly placed inside. He captioned the image: "Strawberries and cream at Wimbledon. Not quite as imagined."
When a user replied that he had received exactly what he ordered—strawberries and cream—Newport fired back: "When I next order fish and chips with tartare sauce, I'll expect a flake of fish, three chips, and tartare sauce just randomly tumbled around it. Oh, and it should all come in a tub that is far too deep, for no reason."
