Vicky Pattison names Strictly winner, says Traitors is dream job

Vicky Pattison has named Dani Dyer as her choice to win the current series of Strictly Come Dancing and has said that Celebrity Traitors would be her "dream job". The reality TV star, who took part in the BBC show last year, shared her thoughts on the new series during an exclusive interview with ChronicleLive this week.

Tyne to Thames challenge

Pattison spoke ahead of a 250-mile 'Tyne to Thames' challenge that she is taking on in aid of Global's Make Some Noise. Reflecting on her own Strictly experience, she said: "I have been all over the place so it has been hard to keep up with things, but I have seen Strictly and everyone is amazing this year. It was a very tough experience, but it was so lovely, as I now have a shared bond with all of the friends that I made while we were doing the show."

She added: "It is strange to not to be part of it, and for the show to move on without us, but in some ways, I think I'd rather be doing this 250 mile challenge than going through the hard parts of it again. I'm not a natural performer and I think people saw how the nerves could get to me, but it was a fantastic thing to be a part of."

New hosts and winner pick

Pattison also weighed in on the new hosting line-up of Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe, saying viewers are judging the trio too quickly and harshly. She said: "I want to say as well that I think the new hosts are great, Emma is an ageless beauty, and she commands such professionalism, Johannes just oozes charisma, and Josh is so funny and warm. They are only just getting started so I think people are being very harsh on them, Strictly is such a juggernaut of a show."

When asked who she wants to win, Pattison chose her friend Dani Dyer, while also praising Delta Goodrem. She said: "In terms of who I want to win, Delta Goodrem is an absolute queen, but I can't say anything other than my beautiful friend Dani Dyer. She has worked so hard to get back to the show, I know if I was in her shoes I would have thought: 'well I've given it a go but that's it', but she is so determined, and is just as friendly as she seems to be, so I want her to win the most."

Traitors dream

Pattison also spoke about her love for Traitors, calling the show her "dream job". She said: "I absolutely love the Traitors, last year I had to watch it all late and kept getting spoilers, so I heard about when Alan Carr played a blinder before I saw it."

She added: "It is an incredible show, I was lucky enough to be part of the Comic Relief sketch based on it, and I did the live experience, where I was a traitor, so I played it by being nice and tricking people. I know that it will be a very coveted spot to get, but I have registered my interest with the BBC so hopefully it is something that could happen in the future, that would be amazing!"
