Traitors star Nick Mohammed admits regret over Joe Marler vote

Nick Mohammed has admitted he felt bad for throwing Joe Marler under the bus during the final of Celebrity Traitors series one, but described Alan Carr's eventual win as "kind of wonderful".

Speaking on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show ahead of the second series, which begins tonight (October 1), Mohammed reflected on the moment he voted to banish Marler despite their plan to take down Traitor Alan Carr.

Nick Mohammed on his final decision

Asked by host Amanda Holden if he regretted his decision, Mohammed said: "No, I think, don't get me wrong, I kind of felt bad for throwing Joe under the bus right at the end but then I think for Alan to inadvertently then win in that way was kind of, not that I was thinking this at the time, but it was kind of wonderful."

After Holden jokingly branded Alan the "worst" Traitor, Celia said: "But that was the winning streak, [it was] just brilliant."

She went on to say that watching the series back, the identity of the Traitors seems obvious in hindsight, but was not at the time. "It's very interesting because to watch it now and see us and try to remember how we felt, but of course at that moment you did what you did."

"And then, actually, I thought to myself, if I was the producer of Traitors, of course I would [choose Alan, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns as Traitors]. Who's very popular in the world? Jonathan Ross and who else does everybody adore? Of course, Alan Carr and then you need to have somebody young, it's so obvious at a distance but when we're there and we're around the roundtable, it's quite a different feeling," she added.

Alan Carr's predictions for new series

Sharing her thoughts on this year's cast, Celia joked: "They're not going to be as good as us, I can't wait though."

Speaking to the press at the National Television Awards, Alan shared his predictions about the cast of the new series. "I'm super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me, and if they make her a Traitor, that is going to be TV gold," the show champion shared.

He also claimed his friend Joanne McNally, who he referred to as a "whirlwind" and "motormouth", will certainly bring the entertainment, as will actor Richard E. Grant, who he added is a "really interesting" addition.

The Celebrity Traitors will air on Thursday and Friday nights at 8pm on BBC One.
