Traitors star admits 'I shouldn't have lied' about job and romance
Traitors star admits lying about job and romance was a mistake

Two contestants from The Celebrity Traitors have admitted they wish they could go back and change a major part of how they played the game. Ross Garshong and Ellie Buckley, who took part in series four of the BBC One gameshow in January 2026, spoke exclusively to Daily Star about their regrets.

Hidden Relationship and Regrets

The couple kept their relationship secret throughout their time in Ardross Castle. Ellie only revealed their love when she was banished, after Ross had left a few days earlier. Speaking to Daily Star, both confessed there were things they would have done differently.

Ross, who was the third player banished from the castle, said: "I would have gone for Stephen Libby earlier. Initially when I thought Stephen was a Traitor, I didn't vote for him on the earlier round tables because I thought he had nothing on him." He added: "I was trying to do the hide-in-the-herd scenario, but, actually, I saved nothing from not going for it!"

Distraction from Lies

Ellie said she would change her approach to honesty. "I wouldn't lie about my job. The pressure of having to not be honest about my job and not be honest about my relationship had me so distracted," she explained. "I wasn't very focused on the actual game because I was too busy trying to maintain my own lies. I wouldn't go in taking so many lies in that ultimately weren't necessary."

Ross played as a Faithful and was banished during episode four. Ellie, also a Faithful, remained longer but was banished during episode nine. Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby went on to win the show together, sharing the total prize fund of £95,750.
