Two years after her heartbreaking defeat in the finale of BBC's The Traitors, former contestant Mollie Pearce has revealed that fans still approach her with one persistent question.
The Question That Follows Her
The 23-year-old model and disability advocate was a key player in the show's second series, reaching the final two as a Faithful only to be betrayed by her close friend and Traitor, Harry Clark. In a gut-wrenching last-minute decision, Mollie almost voted Harry out but ultimately chose fellow Faithful Jaz Singh, handing the win to the Traitor.
Speaking on the Spent podcast, in association with Nationwide, Mollie shared how those intense scenes continue to resonate. "I think the times I think about it is when people come up to me and ask me if I'm okay," she said. "Like, even still, after it's been, what, two years now, people are still wondering if I'm okay."
Reflecting on the Game and Reality
Mollie explained that her visible distress at the end was less about the lost prize money and more about the intense, isolated nature of the game. "It's such an intense game, and we're away from our families... with no contact at all, and you get so absorbed in it," she reflected. "I felt like I'd let myself down and them."
She described how a call to her family immediately after the finale brought her back to earth. "They're like, 'how are you? Like, we don't care about the money.'... It just kind of brings you back to reality. I was like, oh, yeah, I literally have a lovely family to go home to." Mollie concluded that the money was never truly hers and that the experience, though emotionally raw, was ultimately a brilliantly constructed game.
Current Series and All-Star Ambitions
Looking at the ongoing fourth series, Mollie admitted she is "rooting for The Traitors a little bit on this one," specifically praising Rachel Duffy for her gameplay under pressure. She also addressed the possibility of returning for a hypothetical all-star series, saying "Sign me up, of course."
However, she suggested it might need to be formatted as either all Faithfuls or all Traitors to ensure fairness, given existing reputations. On her current relationship with Harry Clark, Mollie confirmed they are friends and she holds no grudges, joking that his promised holiday never materialised but that she can "definitely sort myself out."
Spent is available now on YouTube and all major podcast platforms, with new episodes released every Tuesday. The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer.
