Traitors fans call out Myha'la's 'terrible decision' after wink

Celebrity Traitors viewers have called out a star's 'terrible decision' following a shock recruitment on the BBC series. Richard E. Grant made history on the Claudia Winkleman programme on Thursday night (October 8) as he became the first traitor to ever be eliminated at the very first roundtable. Fans were in hysterics when he told everyone his true identity in the first episode of the new series.

Richard E. Grant's historic banishment

Episode three of the series began with the stars revealing who they wanted to banish following last week's cliffhanger. Richard received votes from all but three of his fellow players. Model and actress Jerry Hall and comedian Joanne McNally voted for Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, while singer James Blunt voted for mathematician Hannah Fry. While Withnail and I actor Richard voted for Game of Thrones and The Last of Us actress Bella Ramsey.

Stepping up to reveal his identity, Richard said: "Thank you for having me and giving almost a full house of votes. I have always wanted to be a traitor as you know. Sometimes in life your dreams do come true and sometimes they don't. I am an unfaithful traitor."

He added in a talking head: "I have been annihilated. I have managed to checkmate myself, which as far as I'm aware has never been done. My daughter is going to be like 'oh dad'. Oh, but I've just had a blast."

Hannah Fry recruited as new traitor

Moments after Richard was sent home, his fellow traitors James Acaster and Maya Jama met in the turret. With Claudia joining them, they decided that they'd recruit a new traitor rather than murdering either Jerry or mathematician Hannah Fry, who were the only ones who didn't receive shields in the last challenge.

Debating whether they should choose Hannah, Bella or comedian Miranda Hart, Maya pointed out that she's 'worried' about Hannah being a faithful. Due to her being trusted by the bulk of players, Maya and James decided to recruit Hannah.

Reacting to the news, Hannah said: "I don't know what to do! It's kind of what James Blunt said they got rid of one of the biggest threats and now they've recruited another one of their biggest threats. It was a question of whether to kill or recruit me."

Myha'la's wink sparks fan backlash

The traitors' jobs may have become easier according to those paying close attention. During the vote at the roundtable, Industry actress Myha'la was seen winking at Richard after he was banished. In spite of being faithful and voting to send Richard home, several of her fellow faithfuls noticed the wink. Fans took to X, previously known as Twitter, in their droves to have their say on why she may have made a bigger mistake than Richard.

@ProjectCensor said: "Myha'la defending Richard so strongly then voting him off with a WINK just sealed her fate loool #CelebrityTraitors." @Kaaaaatie_x added: "Myha'la winking at richard and therefore setting herself up just like richard, you couldn't write it #celebritytraitors."
