Skinner was partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden on the programme. However, his time was marred by claims that he received an anonymous email suggesting he had received more votes than officially indicated. He requested to see the voting figures but was told they could not be disclosed.
Following his elimination, Skinner expressed regret about participating in the show, stating, 'If I’m being completely honest, I really regret doing Strictly Come Dancing. I wish I’d never done it.' He noted that the only positive aspect was his friendship with Dowden, describing her as 'a genuinely lovely person.'
A source told The Sun that Skinner has been inspired by shows such as The Osbournes for the documentary. The source added, 'Execs are likely to clamour to bag the show once it’s completed. Thomas is a popular figure who has had the busiest six months of his life filled with everything from politics to the cha-cha-cha.'
Skinner also faced controversy prior to Strictly after sharing a photo with US Vice President JD Vance, which sparked debate before his appearance on the BBC show.
