Summer House Stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula Split After 4 Years of Marriage
Summer House's Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula announce split

In a move that has saddened fans of the hit Bravo series, Summer House co-stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula have announced the end of their marriage. The couple, who wed in a romantic backyard ceremony in 2021, confirmed their split in a joint social media statement on Monday.

A Mutual and Amicable Decision

The reality television personalities, aged 43 and 34 respectively, shared the news directly with their followers. "After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple," they wrote in a post on Instagram. They expressed the difficulty of the decision, adding, "We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing."

Their relationship was a central storyline on Summer House since its inception. Viewers first saw their romance blossom at the end of season one in 2017. The subsequent seasons documented the highs and lows of their partnership, including:

  • Arguments about moving in together during season two.
  • Cooke's admission of infidelity just months before his proposal in season three.
  • Their eventual reconciliation and journey to the altar.

A Long Road to the Aisle

Despite their challenges, the couple decided to move forward with their wedding plans, which were featured in the show's fifth season. Their path to matrimony was notably disrupted by external forces. Originally planned for September 2020, their big day was postponed three times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ultimately, they chose an intimate setting close to home. "I was like, 'Why don't we do it in [my parents'] backyard?'" Cooke revealed on Bravo’s The Daily Dish podcast in April 2021. "They have this beautiful plot of land. It’s just, like, that epic party that we want to have."

The ceremony finally took place in September 2021 at Batula's family home in New Jersey. A source described it to Page Six as "an emotional and beautiful ceremony." The guest list was a who's who of the Bravo universe, including Summer House castmates Carl Radke (best man), Lindsay Hubbard, and Ciara Miller, as well as friends from Southern Charm.

An End of an Era for Fans

The announcement comes just a week after Batula was seen attending the L'Oreal Academy Launch Event in New York City on January 12, appearing without her wedding ring. The split marks the end of a four-year marriage and a nearly seven-year public relationship that fans invested in through their television screens.

While the couple has asked for privacy as they navigate this personal transition, their statement emphasises the mutual and respectful nature of their separation. Their journey from Summer House co-stars to spouses, fraught with televised trials, has now taken another unexpected turn, leaving viewers to reflect on the complex reality behind reality TV romances.
