BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers have urged producers to move new host Josh Widdicombe upstairs to chat with the celebrities. Fans agreed Emma Willis was capable of handling the main show solo while co-host Johannes Radebe needed extra support.
Show bosses have revamped the programme with new hosts Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe, who took over from Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. The couples took to the floor last week for their debut, and with it being the first live show, no one was eliminated. As the celebrities and their partners returned to the ballroom tonight, Sunday evening will see the series' first dismissal after a public vote.
Movie Night Debut
All 15 couples were tasked with tackling the iconic 'movie night' theme where they danced to music and soundtracks from classic films and cinema. The new hosts have sparked debate among fans on the best way to utilise their talents. Emma Willis remains the favourite to deliver the main programme while discussions are still hot on Josh and Johannes.
After a rocky start last week when Josh's comedy was branded awkward next to Emma, fans suggested he move to the green room to allow his counterpart "room to breath". Josh's hosting skills were praised in tonight's show but fans were adamant he is best suited to chat and connect with the stars after their performances.
Fans Call for Change
Taking to X, one viewer said: "Josh would be brilliant upstairs with the celebs and their partners. He has a lovely personality and a great sense of humour. Emma is a great host, let Josh shine upstairs."
Another said: "Oh, good grief. Josh NEEDS to be upstairs!!!" A third said: "The producers are wasting Josh by not having him upstairs. An alternative: Emma and Josh do Saturday, Emma and Jojo do the results."
Another said: "Honestly get Josh upstairs with JoJo. He needs someone with him." A fifth viewer said: "Johannes does not work upstairs alone. He is gripping those cue cards and his handover is so awkward. Let Josh go upstairs."
