Strictly Come Dancing viewers spotted another change to the show's format moments into the first live episode of the new season. The BBC programme has undergone a revamp in 2026 after long-time hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down from their roles.
Show bosses increased the presenting team to three, with Josh Widdicombe, Johannes Radebe and Emma Willis taking over for the new series. However, before the trio appeared on screen, fans noticed an update to the title credits.
New-look opening titles divide opinion
The long-running credits had been changed, with performers appearing further away from the camera. Viewers following the show on X took to the platform to share their reactions, which were mixed.
Skye said: "Ohh slightly new way of doing the titles?" Karis added: "Oh those titles were VERY different……why we racing for them to be done with?"
Sophie posted: "Hate the new opening titles #strictly if it's not broke, don't fix it" Megan posted: "I will say, I'm not convinced on the wide shots for the opening titles."
Josh said: "What on Earth are the new Strictly titles?"
Emotional return for Johannes
The first live episode began with a group number from the professional dancers before Josh, Emma and Johannes took to the stage. Johannes, a longtime dancer on the show, was emotional to be on the other side of the microphone as a host. He said: "I'm emosh. You guys look beautiful. I miss you all."
It was soon back to something more familiar when the judges walked out onto the dancefloor. Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse took their usual positions to cast their eye over the dancers.
Emma adopts Craig's catchphrase
Emma adopted Craig's famous catchphrase as she said: "I hope this is OK. You are all looking Fab-u-lous." Craig responded: "Don't make a habit of it." Emma shot back: "Ok I have been told."
Dianne Buswell and Will Best kicked off the first show with a Samba. As per tradition, nobody will be voted off on the first show.
