Strictly Come Dancing fans are not entirely convinced by the new presenting format featuring Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, following the exits of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
The BBC dance show returned to screens on Saturday for its first live show, with Emma and Josh hosting the ballroom area while Johannes mingled with celebrities and pros in the 'Clauditorium'. However, viewers were unsure whether the new format worked.
Fans suggest changes to presenting line-up
Some fans have suggested that Emma should host alone on the ballroom floor, effectively stepping into Tess's old role. Others have argued that Josh's comedic abilities would be better placed in the Clauditorium.
Taking to X, one fan commented: "The #Strictly producers will be in a bit of a pickle now. The overwhelming view seems to be that Emma is perfect and should host downstairs alone, and Josh should be moved upstairs as he's way more of a comedic, lighthearted chat sort of host. But where does that leave Johannes."
Viewers divided over Johannes and Josh
Another commented: "Josh looked so out of place. Emma doesn't need him. Josh upstairs, JoJo back dancing much as I love him, he's not a presenter."
A third wrote: "Absolutely right - Josh is wasted reading unfunny autocues and should be upstairs. Love jojo but on the dance floor! Should be on the strictly takes two show."
However, others are convinced that neither Johannes nor Josh work. One commented: "This is a disaster @bbcstrictly. Josh and Johannes are not working at all. Not one bit. Some fans even reckon new hosts should be introduced, with a fan commenting: "I've just watched #Strictly and here's what I think. Emma should be presenting alone. Josh shouldn't even be on the show. And Johannes should be dancing. Rylan should be upstairs doing the after dance chat. I still love the show but wow… how did they get it so wrong? #bbc."
