Olly Murs has been confirmed as the first headliner for Mouth of the Tyne 2027. The former X Factor star and chart-topping singer will top the bill at Tynemouth Priory on Thursday, July 8, 2027, alongside some special guests, organisers announced on Monday morning.
A look back at Mouth of the Tyne 2026
The four-day festival was once again a big success this year. The 2026 event opened with a headline set from indie favourites The Ks, followed by dance anthems on the Friday night with the return of Ministry of Sound Classical. Saturday's headliner was Brit Award-nominated Self Esteem, before 90s legends James closed the festival with a sold-out concert featuring hits like She's A Star and Sit Down.
Olly Murs' chart career
Since finishing second to the North East's own Joe McElderry on the X Factor in 2009, Olly has been a regular in the charts and on TV screens. His debut single Please Don't Let Me Go went straight to number 1 in 2010, with other chart-toppers including Dance With Me Tonight, Heart Skips A Beat and Troublemaker. Other hits from his 16-year career range from Wrapped Up to Dear Darlin' and Up to You Don't Know Love, meaning his setlist for Mouth of the Tyne is set to be packed with pop anthems.

Mouth of the Tyne is one of a number of huge outdoor gigs Olly has announced for 2027. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, October 2 at 10am.
