Strictly Come Dancing fans have hailed Julian Caillon as the 'best thing to happen' to the show after his comments made while on the dance floor were exposed for the first time this series.
The show's social media team shared the first 'hidden mics' video of the 2026 series, capturing conversations between the celebrities and their professional partners during their routines. The stars are mic'd up, meaning their dance floor exchanges are recorded before being edited together into a social media reel.
Julian Caillon's singing steals the show
Pro dancer Julian Caillon captured viewers' hearts in the video, during which he was seen singing and guiding his celebrity partner, Dame Sarah Storey, through their Movie Week routine - a Charleston to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins.
Julian responded to the post, writing: "Oh dear [grinning face with sweat emoji]," but fans were loving it. @siobhanlinehan1 said: "Julian is truly the best thing to happen to this show in years." @bttfmusicalfanpage commented: "Absolutely crying at Julian." @rachel_sharp_ replied: "Loving Julian's falsetto 'Supercali..'"
Fans react to hidden mic moment
@ethanundrell posted: "And this is why we love Julian!!" @englionesses wrote: "Julian [crying laughing emoji] didn’t know he could sing that high." @lucymaygoodwin added: "Whoever hired Julian, I hope they’ve been promoted."
The video comes after last weekend's second live show, which saw all 15 celebrities and their professional partners bring movie magic to the dance floor. Week two of the BBC One dance contest on Saturday (October 3) opened with a pre-recorded routine based around Disney animation Zootropolis, with the professionals dressed as animals such as a bunny and a gazelle as they danced to Shakira’s tracks from the first film and its 2025 sequel: Try Everything and Zoo.
It was then over to the couples to give it their best shot on the ballroom floor, as the judges' scores were added to those from the first live show, when there was no public vote, and were then combined with the results of Saturday night's public vote to decide the two lowest-scoring couples who would face the dance-off.
First elimination and what's next
Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden became the first couple to leave Strictly's 2026 series, despite a plea from fans to keep them in the competition following the professional dancer's early exit last year.
The remaining 14 couples have since headed back to the training room, as they'll be performing again in week three of the competition this Saturday (October 10) night.
