Sinitta has said the explosive row that dominated the I'm A Celebrity… South Africa final made Jimmy Bullard and David Haye 'look like bullies'. The 62-year-old singer and actress walked off the set along with reality star Gemma Collins as the show descended into chaos during the live finale on Friday.
Adam Thomas was crowned winner of the ITV reality show, but the victory was overshadowed by a heated exchange in which Bullard accused Thomas of being 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating'. Bullard claimed Thomas 'dropped c-bombs' that were not aired, and called on hosts Ant and Dec to weigh in. Dec disagreed, saying: 'No it wasn't, I was there.'
Reflecting on the tense finale, Sinitta told ITV's Good Morning Britain that she left the stage because she felt Bullard and Haye 'blew' their moment to share their side of the argument. She said: 'It's like, you had a point. Yes, Jimmy didn't deserve to be treated that way. Yes, there was banter, but it actually felt like bullying to me.'
Sinitta added: 'Because you're all shouting and you're trying to get your things in, and now it does look like you're bullies, because you're kind of goading and you're saying stuff.' She described the behaviour of Haye and Thomas as 'like two eight-year-olds' winding each other up, and said she sometimes had to tell them to stop, as she would with her children.
However, Sinitta also acknowledged that Thomas was 'angry and aggressive' during the row, and that the full exchange could not be shown. She said: 'When you're angry and you're using what I call the really bad swear words, aggressively and angrily, to me, that feels like there's going to be a fight.' She clarified there was 'no bullying' in the jungle, just 'a lot of boisterous testosterone'.
