Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) faces a deadly threat in Coronation Street as her prison situation escalates. Her friend-turned-enemy Kacey (Emma Matthews) turns hostile, and Sarah may be forced to take drastic action to protect herself and her son Harry.
Kacey's True Motives Revealed
Sarah's prison spell has been difficult, with frequent attacks from tougher inmates. She initially found an ally in Kacey, but it became clear that Kacey's kindness was driven by her knowledge that Sarah's boyfriend, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), is a police officer. Kacey hoped to use this connection to help her son, who was arrested for armed robbery.
However, Sarah has just ended her relationship with Kit, fearing it could destroy his career and life. When she explains this to Kacey, she is met with hostility and a serious threat to her physical wellbeing unless she gets Kit to intervene.
Threats Against Harry
Turning to Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) for advice, he insists she contacts Kit, who says he cannot help. Kacey does not take the news well, and it becomes clear Sarah's life is in serious danger. Next week, Kacey escalates by showing Sarah pictures of Harry Platt (Joshua Leavy) at a friend's house, after discovering a defaced photo of Harry with his face scrubbed out.
Sarah calls Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), terrified for Harry's safety, leading him, Kit, and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) to investigate the friend's mother. Meanwhile, Sarah steals pool balls from the prison rec room and stuffs them into a sock, preparing for a showdown.
Sarah Prepares for Confrontation
On the outside, Kit plans to threaten people to keep Sarah safe, but his mother Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) advises him to put himself first. As Sarah approaches Kacey's cell armed with her weapon, it seems she may be on her own.
