Romesh Ranganathan's Traitors teaser: 'Wrong flavour' comment

Romesh Ranganathan has hinted at tensions behind the scenes of Celebrity Traitors, admitting he can be “the wrong flavour” for some people. The 48-year-old comedian was questioned by Tom Davis on their Wolf and Owl podcast about his time on the BBC show, but he remained tight-lipped about the details.

Secrecy and NDAs

Tom Davis joked that Romesh would be the ideal person to involve in a bank job or a “secret f***ing operation”, insisting that once he gives his word, he keeps it. Despite the pressure to reveal gossip, Romesh refused to spill major secrets about the upcoming series.

However, he did offer one intriguing hint about the dynamics inside the castle. Discussing the 21 contestants, including best pal Rob Beckett, James Blunt, Maya Jama and Bella Ramsey, Romesh said: “I am the wrong flavour for certain type of people. There’s certain types of personality that just rub people up the wrong way, and sometimes you have to accept that however you are is not to someone's taste.”

Fan theories and filming mishaps

His candid admission led fans to wonder if he might be playing the role of an annoying traitor. Romesh also revealed that cast members were photographed while filming one of the early missions, which caused a headache for production.

According to Romesh, the pictures didn’t reveal much because they were taken at the very beginning when everyone was still together. He said: “I think I can say this... So on the first, early on filming we got papped doing one of the missions right - Understandably production were like 'f*** we don't want this to get out'.”

Romesh pointed out that the entire appeal of The Traitors lies in the shock, twists and surprises, arguing that knowing what happens would take away the fun, saying “even when you think you want to know you don't want to know.”
