Ross Kemp's paranoid behaviour in the first episode of Celebrity Traitors series two has left viewers howling with laughter. The actor, best known for playing Grant Mitchell in EastEnders and for his high-stakes documentaries, appeared to be on high alert throughout the episode, accusing two castmates of murdering him.
The second series of Celebrity Traitors aired last night (October 1), with the Traitors now officially chosen. One Traitor is said to be significantly more under the radar than the other, leaving the 21 celebrities questioning every conversation and action as the mind games begin.
Accusations in plain sight
Having watched the show previously, Ross has become paranoid about being killed off at the beginning of the series. The first of his suspicions came when Bella Ramsey placed a captain's hat on his head after the team won their mission.
Ross was seen to quickly ask the actor: "Didn't just kill me, did you?" While Bella swiftly denied the accusation, Ross continued to be on high alert during the car ride back to the castle as he aired his suspicions to the other celebrities.
Fans react to paranoid moments
Later in the episode, Leigh-Anne Pinnock was also put on the firing line as she rubbed Ross' arm while walking past him, saying she was cold. After returning to the room to question her, Leigh-Anne exclaimed: "Calm down. I literally went like this, I was cold!."
Viewers found these moments hilarious. One person on social media wrote: "He has spent time with the most dangerous men on the planet and his face when he thinks he's been murdered in plain sight is of pure terror. Hilarious!" Another fan admitted: "I was absolutely howling laughing."
A third commented: "Bless his heart; Ross seriously needs to just relax and enjoy himself a bit more." Meanwhile, a Reddit user said: "Paranoid Ross Kemp was the highlight for me; absolutely hilarious." Another praised his thinking: "Smart thinking with the hat to be honest, but hilariously wrong."
Editing praised as series continues
One fan also praised the editing team, writing: "Shout out to the editing team for leaving the shot on him spinning after being touched. They held it perfectly for comedic effect." Another fan chuckled: "'I'm really paranoid.' Yeah we can tell." While someone else claimed: "We've found our CEO of overthinking."
With it likely that a murder in plain sight will take place this season, fans can't wait to see if Ross will be able to catch the Traitors in the act or remain completely oblivious. The second episode of Celebrity Traitors kicks off tonight (October 2) at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
