Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse was left red-faced after failing to recall the name of Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell during an appearance on Iain Stirling's Roast the Internet.
Oti, who joined the BBC series in 2015 and departed in 2022 after seven years, was put on the spot by Iain, who tested her knowledge of former colleagues. The show, which also features Ivo Graham and Sara Pascoe, airs on Comedy Central on Monday, October 19.
Oti's Strictly memories tested
In an exclusive clip, Iain showed Oti photographs of people she had shared a Strictly stage with. The first was her former dance partner Bill Bailey, with whom she won the glitterball trophy in 2020. "Love him," she said.
Another photograph featured her I'm A Celebrity campmate Reverend Richard Coles. Iain then joked: "If you get one wrong, it'll be so good!" Oti promised she wouldn't, though she winced as she momentarily blanked on Anneka Rice's surname before getting it right.
Daniel O'Donnell name slip
Oti then failed to recall one particular star's identity. "Ireland will kick me out if I get this one wrong," she confessed, exclaiming "Oh no" as his name escaped her. "This is the Cliff Richard of Ireland," Iain remarked.
Oti remembered that the performer had sung for her and that she had shared footage of him online. As she debated whether it was Danny Boyle or Danny Jones, Iain interjected: "It's Daniel O'Donnell!"
Daniel O'Donnell featured on Strictly during Oti's debut year in 2015, partnering with Kristina Rihanoff before becoming the third celebrity sent home. Iain commended: "That was unbelievable, can we all give it up for Oti Mabuse?"
Iain Stirling's Roast the Internet airs at 9pm on Comedy Central on Monday, October 19.
