News anchor loses it over 'eat beaver' question live on TV

Fox 2 anchor Ryan Ermanni struggled to keep a straight face when co-host Deena Centofanti asked him live on air if he could 'eat beaver'. The moment happened on Good Day Detroit, and Ermanni, 47, was visibly overcome with laughter.

Beaver talk on Good Day Detroit

Centofanti was discussing the survival show Alone, which challenges contestants to fend for themselves in harsh wilderness. She explained that participants look for fat in beavers, calling the animal 'the most sought after'. Meteorologist Derek Kevra agreed with a knowing smirk, while Ermanni could barely contain his chuckles.

Centofanti then directly asked Ermanni: 'Ryan do you think you could eat beaver?' As he lost composure at the double entendre, she continued: 'There's fat, and then it's meat.'

Contestant fell ill after eating beaver

In season nine of Alone, contestant Benji Hill ate a dead beaver and some grouse he had killed, but later became ill and had to leave the competition. Kevra reminded the hosts of this fact, but Ermanni was too far gone to continue the conversation.

Trying to move on, Centofanti asked: 'What about a moose?' After pulling himself together, Ermanni said: 'I don't know anything about this show but you're really funny. You are a really funny gal.'

Clip goes viral on X

Ermanni later posted the clip on X, writing: 'I had no idea eating beaver was such a big part of the show “Alone” 🦫🤣.'

Social media users reacted with amusement. One user, @themookbettor, wrote: 'I know you had a million one-liners running through your mind, your overall composure was amazing.. Bravo sir.' Another, @AltomonteEvile2, said: 'That woman knew EXACTLY what she was doing 🤣 Ryan, you are a better man than I am. My head would have exploded.' Dave Addison called it the 'funniest clip in a long time'.
