Meghan Markle was called out on the red carpet by a cooking show judge just weeks after her MasterChef Australia appearance. Australian Channel Seven's My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge took a swipe at Meghan as he appeared at The Logie Awards in Sydney over the weekend.
Speaking to Daily Mail about Meghan's guest appearance on MasterChef Australia, he said: "We are MKR... we don't allow people of non-royalty onto our show!"
Colin's brutal response
When asked for his thoughts on the Duchess, he said: "Whatever floats your boat," adding a brutal six-word dig: "She is not in my boat!"
Despite Colin's cutting words, MasterChef judges Sofia Levin and Poh Ling spoke glowingly of Meghan during her time on the show. This came after reports of Meghan not being happy with the use of her royal title on set.
Judges defend Meghan
Levin shut down the rumours as she said: "None of the bad stuff is true. She was just an absolute delight. People are really mean. My experience of Meghan was that she loved food… we hung out when we weren't filming… she didn't run off to her green room."
"She wanted to talk about beekeeping and her kids and the things she likes to cook and eat. It was really nice getting to see that side of her."
Security breach scare
The judges also feared there had been a security breach on set as Prince Harry called Meghan in the middle of shooting, with crew bringing her phone to her on set so she could answer.
Levin told News24: "It was so real that usually they tell us what's going to happen in advance – they didn't tell us. The bit that probably didn't make it into that edit was Poh [Ling Yeow's] and my … faces, because we thought there had been a security breach. If someone sort of interrupts like that (that's what you assume)."
However, it was only after they saw Prince Harry's face that they "sort of figured out what was happening."
