Maya Jama in Advanced Talks to Replace Emma Willis on The Voice

Love Island host Maya Jama, 31, is reportedly in advanced talks with ITV to replace Emma Willis as the host of The Voice UK. According to sources, Jama has held a series of meetings with the broadcaster about the coveted position and has been offered the role, though she has yet to accept.

ITV Confirms Discussions

An ITV spokesman told The Mirror: "As with each new series, we are in discussions about talent for The Voice series 15. Any announcement will be made in due course." The Sun reported that if Jama accepts, it would be her second primetime show after Walk The Line in 2022, which was pulled after one series.

Competing Offers from US Networks

However, ITV may face competition as Jama has received multiple offers from US television networks. A source said: "There have been a lot of approaches to Maya from various networks, including ITV, and shows in the UK and Stateside. The Voice producers and her did have meetings but because of her other commitments the conversation didn’t progress. Right now, she and her management are evaluating all of the opportunities and planning her next moves."

Emma Willis Moves to Strictly

Emma Willis, who has hosted The Voice since 2014, is stepping down after accepting a hosting role on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Along with Willis, McFly stars Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have also quit the ITV show. Series 15 of The Voice is set to begin filming in autumn.

Willis's Past Comments on Dancing Shows

Willis had previously banned her husband Matt from appearing on Strictly, admitting she is a "jealous" person. She once said: "I'm a jealous person. If my husband is around a younger, good-looking woman, I’m like, 'Stop looking at them'. Matt could do Strictly, because he’s an amazing dancer." However, in 2020, Matt told The Mirror: "They'll be some sort of dancing show in my future, I am sure. Not this year, but it’s a given isn’t it? At some point."
