Maura Higgins Joins Dancing with the Stars After Traitors US Success

Maura Higgins has secured a spot on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, following her recent appearance on The Traitors US. The reality star, who first gained fame on Love Island, will compete for the Mirrorball trophy on the ABC show, which also streams on Disney+ and Hulu.

The official Dancing with the Stars Instagram account announced her participation, writing: 'She went from looking for love to looking for who to trust, and now she's looking to win the Mirrorball.' Higgins is one of two confirmed celebrities for the 35th season, alongside Summer House's Ciara Miller.

Higgins had previously expressed interest in joining the show, telling The Hollywood Reporter: 'It’s something that’d be a challenge for me. I’ve never danced. I’d done a bit of Irish dancing when I was younger. It’d be a huge challenge, but I know I’d throw myself into it and all the looks and glitter.'

The movie follows two music lovers trying to save their record shop by travelling across Ireland to purchase rare vintage records. The cast includes Derry Girls' Tara Lynne O'Neill and Leah O'Rourke.
