Busted star Matt Willis has said he "can't think of anything worse" than appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, despite his wife Emma Willis now being one of the show's presenters.
Matt, 43, who fronts Love Is Blind UK alongside Emma, 50, said having her as a host on the show alongside Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe gives him the perfect excuse to turn down the show's persistent bookers.
Like many pop stars, he has been approached many times over the years but told the Telegraph: "Now I have a very valid reason to turn it down. I can't think of anything worse. It'd be like the first night in the theatre, but every week."
Matt's Strictly Stance
He added that despite their double act for Netflix's Love Is Blind, he was never part of the conversation for Strictly, which went through a gruelling casting process to find replacements for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
He said: "No, no. We do Love Is Blind, that's about as far as my TV presenting goes. It's not my bag."
However, Matt is thrilled for Emma, who he married in 2008 at Rushton Hall in Northamptonshire, at bagging one of the biggest programmes on TV and backstage pictures showed he was with her at the first live show.
Supporting Emma's New Role
The pair were shown kissing in a corridor at Elstreet Studios in Hertfordshire, with the singer in a smart suit and white T-shirt and Emma in a white dress, as they walked past the dressing rooms.
He said: "It felt different, this job, because she really wanted it, and I think she was scared to say that out loud.
"Taking the biggest job on TV was not on our bingo card for 2026, but I'm so proud of her. And if anyone can do it, it's her. I'm stoked for her, she's perfect for it, and loves the show so much."
Crediting Emma for His Recovery
Elsewhere in the interview he credited his wife for saving him from his struggles with addiction. He said: "If I didn't have her, I don't know who I would have had to drag me out of it. When you hit rock bottom, eventually you want to turn your life around."
