Manchester's Aitch & AngryGinge Become I'm A Celeb's 'Ultimate Duo'
Manchester duo Aitch & AngryGinge join I'm A Celebrity

Two young men who grew up in deprived council estates on opposite sides of Manchester are poised to become the breakout stars of this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, marking their mainstream television debut as the show's 'ultimate duo'.

From Manchester Estates to Australian Jungle

Brit Award-winning rapper Aitch, 25, and TikTok sensation AngryGinge, 23, might be less familiar to the show's traditional audience, but ITV producers are reportedly 'over the moon' about securing both personalities. The double signing follows the success of social media star GK Barry in attracting younger viewers last year.

A television insider revealed: 'After the success of GK Barry last year pulling in that Gen Z audience, bosses thought why just have one social media star, why not two? But it was a stroke of pure genius to sign up Aitch and Ginge - they're best friends and their chemistry is off the charts.'

Overcoming Humble Beginnings

Harrison Armstrong, better known by his stage name Aitch, was educated at a Catholic school in New Moston, a deprived borough in North East Manchester. Just a thirty-minute drive away, Morgan Burtwistle, the man behind AngryGinge, was raised in a single-parent household in Eccles where the family survived on approximately £12,500 per year to support both him and his sister.

Aitch initially dreamed of becoming a kickboxer before discovering his talent for rapping, eventually going viral in 2018 with his freestyle 'Straight Rhymz'. He now boasts 20 top ten singles in the UK, a Brit Award, and an estimated fortune of £3.8 million.

Meanwhile, Morgan's mother worked as a mental health carer while struggling to support her two children, leading Morgan to move in with his grandparents at age 17. He attended Padgate Academy alongside darts superstar Luke Littler, who remains a close friend.

The Birth of an Internet Bromance

The two Manchester natives met through the social media scene in 2021 and have developed what producers are calling a 'fully formed bromance' that's expected to provide electric entertainment in the jungle. Their friendship has been documented through collaborative YouTube videos and live streams where their trademark banter - particularly their jokes about each other's mothers - has proven hugely popular with Gen Z audiences.

The TV insider added: 'It will be like nothing I'm A Celeb has seen before. Their relatability means they certainly know their audience and they know how to make good TV. It's a risk that will pay off.'

Morgan, who has amassed two million followers across platforms and earns over £40,000 per month from his content, remains humble about his success, stating: 'I don't think any content creator is famous, I don't like the word. What made me known in the space could be anything from my good looks, charisma or sense of humour. No, if I'm honest, it was my Twitch chat.'

After months of denying his participation, AngryGinge was spotted arriving at Brisbane Airport from Manchester this week, with Aitch following close behind. Their existing friendship and natural chemistry could redefine the dynamics of the ITV prime time show, offering viewers something genuinely new while showcasing Manchester talent on one of television's biggest stages.
