MAFS UK Star Polly Sellman Considers Return from Australia Amid Visa Fears
MAFS UK Star Mulls Return from Australia Over Visa Worries

MAFS UK Star Faces Dilemma Over Australian Dream

Polly Sellman, the reality television personality from Kent who gained fame on Married at First Sight UK in 2024, is now grappling with a significant life decision. Having relocated to Australia in pursuit of a sun-soaked lifestyle she claims to have "manifested," Sellman is contemplating a return to the United Kingdom due to mounting anxieties about her visa status and financial constraints.

From Manifestation to Anxiety

The 30-year-old star, who currently resides in Australia on her third working holiday visa, initially expressed an unwavering desire to never return to Britain. However, she has recently confessed to feeling overwhelmed by the lack of long-term security in her adopted country. Sellman stated emphatically, "I never want to come back to the UK. If I ever end up back in the UK for whatever reason, just know it's not my choice."

Despite this firm stance, Sellman acknowledges missing her family deeply and facing the harsh reality that she cannot afford impromptu visits home. She explained, "Unless you've just got the money and you're pulling it out your a**e, there's no way you can get home. I know that with me being here that I cannot afford to go home willy nilly."

Working Holiday Visa Limitations

The working holiday visa scheme, which permits individuals aged 18 to 30 to live and work in Australia for up to twelve months, can be extended three times. Sellman is currently navigating the complexities of this temporary arrangement, which she describes as leaving her on "borrowed time." She revealed, "There's not a lot of security. We are on borrowed time and what we're trying to do by staying here is buy more time."

This uncertainty has plunged Sellman into an emotional spiral, particularly after experiencing a wave of homesickness following her move from Sydney to Queensland. She recounted, "I had this huge overwhelming feeling in my stomach of I want to go home. It wasn't a case of I want to go home for good, it was like I want to go home because I want to see my mum, I want to see my sister and I want to see my dad."

Overwhelmed by Success

Ironically, Sellman's anxieties have intensified precisely as many of her personal and professional aspirations materialised. In February, she reportedly achieved several milestones she had "manifested," including a fulfilling romantic relationship and a job sponsorship opportunity. However, the simultaneous arrival of these successes left her feeling scared and overwhelmed.

She said, "It's everything that I've manifested and everything that I've asked for, it kind of all came at once. I manifested a good relationship, a nice partner, all of these things that I wanted from a partner. Then I manifested sponsorship and then I manifested like a different change of career - I manifested loads of sh*t. Then at the end of February all of it happened, all of it happened at the same time. That scared the s**t out of me."

Appealing for Guidance

Faced with the impending expiration of her visa and the emotional turmoil of her situation, Sellman has turned to social media to seek advice from fellow British nationals on working holiday visas. She pleaded, "Does anyone who is currently on a third working holiday visa know what the f**k they're going to do when that comes to an end?"

Her public appeal highlights the broader challenges faced by many young Britons pursuing dreams abroad under temporary visa schemes, where the allure of a new life can clash with practical realities and emotional ties to home.
