Three more contestants from Married at First Sight UK have come forward with allegations of sexual assault, violence, and inadequate welfare support on the reality show. The anonymous groom and two brides claim production staff dismissed their concerns and pressured them to stay silent.
The groom alleges he was sexually assaulted by his on-screen partner after a night of drinking, saying he said “no” before his underwear was ripped off. He claims a welfare producer later told him the actions were not intentional and asked him not to discuss it on TV. He says he initially agreed but became frustrated when production urged him to remain on the show.
One bride claims her co-star performed a lewd act and touched her face without consent, and restricted her from speaking to production staff without him. She says she reported the incidents but was encouraged to continue, with staff buying her a drink to smooth things over.
Another bride alleges she was traumatised for years, with her co-star restricting her movements and isolating her. She claims welfare staff presented as friends but were not truly supportive.
The revelations follow a Panorama investigation that alleged two women were raped by on-screen husbands and a third sexually assaulted. The men deny the allegations, and the Met Police has urged victims to come forward. Channel 4 has commissioned an external review of participant welfare, but industry sources suggest the show is unlikely to return.
