Married At First Sight Australia groom Danny Hewitt has revealed his true feelings after Bec Zacharia dropped the 'I love you' bombshell during a commitment ceremony. The 34-year-old British husband admitted he was caught completely off guard by the declaration from his 35-year-old bride.
In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Danny explained that Bec gave no hints beforehand. 'Normally when a girl tells you they love you, they give you like breadcrumbs beforehand. Bec didn’t give me any breadcrumbs. She didn’t allude to it. She didn’t give me hints. Then it just came out of nowhere,' he said.
Danny acknowledged that Bec's feelings are ahead of his own, but insisted love cannot be forced. 'You can’t force love. You’re either going to love someone or you’re not. I’m just going with the flow and seeing where it goes,' he added. He attributed her strong emotions to their recent retreat, where she described him as a 'safe space'.
Bec admitted she knew Danny did not feel the same way, but did not regret her confession. 'I definitely did not plan on telling him at the Commitment Ceremony at all. I definitely would have waited a few weeks,' she told Chattr. She insisted their relationship is deeper off-screen, saying the show did not accurately reflect their bond.
